White Sheep, Peach Background
This portrait was taken from one of the flock of sheep that grazes outside the horse pasture behind our property. They come to meet me at the fence looking for an apple in my hand or shrub from the fence line. They are really quite gentle creatures. 22" x 32" Pastel on paper.

This is the most recent pastel of the row of cypress at the curve by my house. It's crazy that some of them are still standing with the way the winds beat down on them. It's the holes that are created between the branches by the wind, of course, that give them this whimsical shape.
Check out the Members Show at the Petaluma Arts Center happening now. You'll find this piece there. There is so much interesting, good work! Enjoy.

The new work is now showing at the Tea Room Cafe in downtown Petaluma. This is the pastel that I chose for the announcement. It captures the new color and mood I seem to be in this fall. There are new landscapes and a few new animal portraits. I've also updated my Etsy shop, have a look. As always, thanks for reading and checking in. Let me know what you think.

Green Trees
Here's another new pastel from the "vintage frame" series completed at the beginning of this year. These trees remind me of the Birch trees that line the rivers, lakes and reservoires in Castille, Spain. They're tall and whimsical and provide nice shade for a picnic.

Orange Flowers Starry NIght
Crazy that it's April already. A friend reminded me to post my latest and greatest pastels. This is one of my favs from the "vintage frame" series I completed in January. It's small (4.5" x 6.5") I worked on these pastels at night a lot and I think the night sky shows here. I call this Orange flower starry night!

Yellow Birch Trees
It's been raining for days in Petaluma. We were lucky on Christmas eve
to have a very sunny, blue sky and everything came alive! Including
these birch trees next to the back fence. Wonderful! You can also view it
(and buy it) on Etsy. It has a beautiful vintage silver frame.
Pastel on Paper. Measures 6" x 8".
