Petaluma West

This was one of the first pastels I did in a series that I call "Petaluma West." There are cypress trees all around me on the west side, which take on these crazy, wind blown shapes by the fierce ocean winds that pour in from the Pacific. And then you have the barns next to these big open skies. I'm thrilled to live here, even though the wind can be haunting at times.

  1. Kate I love your work and found it interesting that you graduated from Hampshire college, My brother was in the first graduating class of Hampshire. Anias Nin gave the graduating talk, we sere such hippies then and it was a very radical college. Your work has inspired me , many thanks, Abby
